Special Experience Option - General Honors Award
Special Experience Option: Students who complete (1) a study abroad experience (or National Student Exchange), (2) an off campus internship, or (3) a cooperative education semester may use one of these experiences in lieu of one of the four distribution areas for the General Honors Award. If academic credit is granted for the experience, a grade of “A” or “B” shall be required, unless the experience is graded pass-fail, in which case a grade of “Pass” shall be required. If academic credit is granted for the experience, the student may be exempted from an equal number of General Honors Award hours, up to a maximum of three (3) credit hours. If academic credit is not granted for the experience, the student shall petition for Honors College approval in advance of the experience and then provide documentation of successful completion of the experience.
